Cooking Instructions
  • TRADITIONAL METHOD:
    1. Pre-soak beans 8 hours or overnight
    2. Drain beans
    3. Add to beans to saucepan with 3 cups of water per 1 cup of beans
    4. Bring beans to a boil for 10 minutes, then cover pan and allow to simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour
  • PRESSURE COOKER METHOD WITHOUT SOAKING:
    1. Rinse beans
    2. Add beans to pressure cooker with 3 cups of water per 1 cup of beans
    3. Set pressure cooker to high and cook for 20-25 minutes
  • PRESSURE COOKER METHOD WITH SOAKING:
    1. Pre-soak beans 8 hours or overnight
    2. Drain beans
    3. Add beans to pressure cooker with ½ cup of water per 1 cup of beans
    4. Set pressure cooker to high and cook for 5-8 minutes

    3. Add beans to saucepan with 3 cups of water for each cup of uncooked beans
    4. Bring beans to a boil, cover pan and allow to simmer for 1 hour, until soft
  • PRESSURE COOKER METHOD WITHOUT SOAKING:
    1. Rinse beans
    2. Add beans to pressure cooker with 3 cups of water for each cup of uncooked beans
    3. Set pressure cooker to high and cook for 16-25 minutes
  • PRESSURE COOKER METHOD WITH SOAKING:
    1. Pre-soak beans 4-6 hours or overnight
    2. Drain beans
    3. Add beans to pressure cooker with ½ a cup of water for each cup of uncooked soaked beans
    4. Set pressure cooker to high and cook for 3-4 minutes

  • PRESSURE COOKER METHOD WITHOUT SOAKING:
    1. Rinse beans
    2. Add to beans to pressure cooker with 3 cups of water per 1 cup of beans
    3. Set pressure cooker to high and cook for 25 minutes
  • PRESSURE COOKER METHOD WITH SOAKING:
    1. Pre-soak beans 4-6 hours or overnight
    2. Drain beans
    3. Add beans to pressure cooker with ½ cup of water per 1 cup of beans
    4. Set pressure cooker to high and cook for 6 minutes
